Chung Yong Mitcham is Moving!!
After over 20 years of Chung Yong Mitcham running a class at the Canons Mitcham it is time for a change.
Due to powers outside of our control the hall we train in is to be changed into a set of smaller room that will be no good to us. Because of this we will be moving to the Hub on Bishopsford Road, Mitcham.
This is a positive move as the Hub will provide us with more training facilities, the chance to take part in community based activities and work alongside other groups who are also aiming to produce international quality athletes.
The last lesson at the Cannons will be Friday 28th August 2009 .
The First lesson at the Hub will be Tuesday 8th of September 2009.
Training times are as follows:
Tuesdays
Juniors - 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Seniors - 8.30pm to 9.30pm
(Seniors should turn up by 8pm to use the warm up facilities)
Fridays
All ages - 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Also all lessons will be standard training sessions with Pattern and Sparring squad lessons being held at additional times.
How to find the Hub - Bishopsford Road, Mitcham
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Bus: Routes 118 (Morden – Brixton) and 280 (Tooting – Sutton Station)
Tube: Morden Station on the Northern Line and 118 bus (1 mile from the hub)
Tramlink: Wimbledon Branch, alight at Mitcham Station (400 yards from the hub)
BY CAR (FREE PARKING):
Imperial Fields is located off the main A217 between Mitcham and Rose Hill.
From Mitcham Town Centre: From the one-way system in Mitcham Town centre, pick up signs for Rose Hill & Sutton. Go through a major set of traffic lights by Mitcham Cricket Green, pass the Crown pub on the left and go straight through another major set of lights by Mitcham Tram Station. The entrance is about another 400 yards, on the left just past a small humped-back bridge
From the South West: M25 junction 8, take the A217 northbound, this goes through Tadworth and Cheam. It's dual carriageway most of the way, although long stretches have a 40mph speed limit. This leads to a major roundabout with lights (Rose Hill). Take the third exit (Mitcham A217), this is Bishopsford Road and the ground is a mile further on. Go through two sets of lights, the road dips, and the entrance is on the right opposite a petrol station.
From the South: M25 junction 7, M23 then A23 northbound. Turn left onto the A237 after passing under a railway bridge at Coulsdon South station. Through Hackbridge and Beddington, then turn left onto the A239. Turn left again at lights by Mitcham Cricket Green into the A217, the ground is 800 yards on the left.
