Master William Rose started training in Scotland in 1972 under the instruction of Master Teh Hock Aun and Master Rhee Ki Ha. The Taekwondo academy opened in 1974 with Master Teh as chief instructor.
In 1977 Master Rose earned his First Dan (Black Belt) at Master Rhee’s Academy – one of the first five people in the UK to do so.
He then became assistant instructor at the academy. In 1978 Master Teh opened his own academy; Master Rose worked as an instructor there until 1983.
Chung Yong (Blue Dragon), schools of Taekwondo was founded in 1982 with clubs opening simultaneously in Clapham (South London) and Glasgow teaching Taekwondo to adults.

Black belt training with Master William Rose
Chung Yong is a member of the BTCB (British Taekwondo Control Board) – the largest Taekwondo Association in Great Britain which is responsible for (among many other things) the British Olympic Taekwondo Team.
The style of Hapkido practised at Chung Yong was developed by Grand Master Lee Kwan Young. Master William Rose is a direct student of Master Lee and still regularly trains with him.
Chung Yong is a strong club with a large number of Dan Grades (Black Belts) and currently operates clubs in England and Scotland.
