Two Step Sparring
Two Step Sparring is a set of pre arranged movements that form part of the Chung Yong Taekwondo grading syllabus. Once you have achieved your green belt (6th Kup) you will be required to learn Two Step Sparring to progress further.
Timing
This requires two people [a] and [b]
[a] attacks right side while [b] defends right side,
[b] attacks right side while [a] defends right side,
[a] attacks left side while [b] defends left side,
[b] attacks left side while [a] defends left side.
The below instructions are only for the right side so to do the left side repeat instructions assuming left is right and right is left.
No 1.
Attacking
Pull right leg back in to back stance guard and block.
Move forwards with front kick right leg.
Move forwards with side kick left leg, land left leg forwards back stance guard and block.
Defending
Step back with the right leg to walking stance and block the front kick with left arm low block.
Step out to the left with the left leg to avoid the side kick and right leg side kick to the body. Land back in back stance guard and block.
No 2.
Attacking
Pull right leg back in to back stance guard and block.
Move forwards with front kick right leg.
Move forwards with turning kick left leg, land left leg forwards back stance guard and block.
Defending
Step back with the left leg to walking stance and block the front kick with right arm low block.
Step out to the left with the left leg and step back with the right leg to avoid the turning kick, left leg turning kick to the body, land back in back stance guard and block.
No 3.
Attacking
Pull right leg back in to back stance guard and block.
Move forwards with front kick right leg.
Move forwards with back kick left leg, land left leg forwards back stance guard and block.
Defending
Step back with the left leg to walking stance and block the front kick with right arm low block.
Step across yourself to the left with the right leg (big step) and while coming round back kick left leg, land back in back stance guard and block.
