Class Notes
Master Kennedy has been actively involved in TKD since 1979. He started his training in the ITF style of Taekwondo, under the instruction of Master ‘Teh Hock Aun’ and one of Master Tehs’ Black belt instructors, Master William Rose.
Master Rose moved on to the WTF style of Taekwondo in the early 80s and was followed shortly thereafter by Master Kennedy. By this time Master Rose had formed the Chung Yong Taekwondo clubs which Jim Kennedy then joined and opened a Chung Yong club North of the Border with the assistance of Mr. Jack Wallace and his son Mr. Colin Wallace, both of whom are still actively involved.
This the second Kirkintilloch club and it is based withinin the ‘Leisure Centre’ in the Woodhead Park area of Kirkintilloch, the club meets twice a week for Taekwondo, both adults and children are welcome.
The Hapkido classes are still based within the community centre in Meiklehill Road which is near-bye, tuition is available to adults of 16 years of age and above.
Master Kennedy currently holds the position of Equity / Equality Officer for taekwondoscotland TM
